IMI2: The Blood Angel Cult

Location: North America and Parts of Europe.

Status: Active.

Description and Behavior: The Blood Angel Cult is an anti-theistic cult with a strong paramilitary and counterculture tradition, comprised of at least forty-nine cells varying in size. They revere a being known as the “Blood Angel”. This Blood Angel is, according to the cult’s literature, a fallen angel that remains loyal to God and desperately desires readmittance into Heaven. It seeks this by means of radical penance, apparently having removed most of its own skin through self-flagellation. The Blood Angel is said to kind, generous, and protective of the weak. We here at PRAE have yet to be able to verify its existence.

It is the desire of the Blood Angel Cult to convince the Blood Angel that continued unrequited loyalty to God is “folly” by using arguments developed by cult members. Depending on the cell or individual, they wish either to be led by the Blood Angel or otherwise bring him into their organization. In addition to this, the various cells often pursue the acquisition of anomalous objects and often interfere with our researchers, sometimes leading to death.

This cult carries out most of its activities on the outskirts of various cities and towns, preferring municipalities with a high rate of property abandonment. Most members are recruited from various local anarchist, communist, and other counterculture groups. They usually have an emblem resembling a bleeding angel either on their clothing or as a tattoo, their decentralized nature means the aesthetic of this emblem can vary wildly. Their paramilitary and often radical nature often make them a danger for the communities they inhabit.

Recommended actions: It is best to deal with the Blood Angel Cult as a community effort. Establish neighborhood watches and contact police whenever possible against possible cult activity, or the activity of the counterculture movements they recruit from. It highly likely that cult members will claim that PRAE kidnaps, tortures, experiment with, and kill their members. We assure you that this is false.
